The story behind the toolkit
Two years ago, I discovered OKLCH and fell in love. Perceptually uniform colors. 23% more colors than sRGB. It felt like the future of web design. But when I tried to use it in production, reality hit hard—there were no tools to make it practical.
My breaking point? Manually converting an entire HSL palette to OKLCH. A full day spent translating HEX values one by one, making errors, questioning my sanity. That's when I knew: I needed a bulk converter that could transform anything into anything—HEX, RGB, HSL, OKLCH, CSS variables, you name it.
So I built Lumea. What started as a personal tool has grown into a comprehensive color science toolkit—Delta E calculations, APCA accessibility checks, perceptual mixing, and more. Every feature exists because I needed it, and I'm betting you do too.
Built by someone who's obsessed with getting colors right, for developers who just want to build beautiful things.
What to expect: Lumea is an ongoing project. I'm constantly improving it, adding features, and refining the experience. Things might be inaccurate sometimes, or you might hit edge cases I haven't considered yet.
If you find something off, or have ideas to make it better, I'd love to hear from you. Drop me a line at anjilbis12@gmail.com —your feedback shapes what Lumea becomes.
